We all started out together in the inaugural year of the Beth El Associate Membership, 1961-62. And most of us stayed at Beth El, and our children knew each other. This is a poignant time with happy memories of the early years, and now this sad time. My heart goes out to you Phil and to your lovely family. (Bob and I got to meet Aron at your home last Spring). My last memory of Florence was at Rosh Hashonah, when Florence greeted me with that smile of hers, and we hugged. I send hugs and love to all of you.

Dear Phil, Michael, Allison, Aron and family,
I am so sorry to learn of Florence's passing. She was a lovely woman, so sweet, kind and warm. I can still hear her distinctive voice in my head. It was always so nice to see her familiar presence on Brainard Road. I am sure that your beautiful memories of her will comfort you. You are in my thoughts.

Dear Phil and Family,
My friendship with Florence started fifty-six years ago when we had recess duty together at Vincent School in Bloomfield. She was a very special friend to me all these years; and her loss will be felt by me and her many friends for a long time to come.

I met Flo when I became a teacher and came to her school many years ago. She was a wonderful teacher and mentor to me. In the years that followed, we became close friends. My children knew that "Auntie Flo"s house was the place to walk to after school before they went to Hebrew School because they would be welcomed and treated to the best snacks ever! Throughout the years, Flo remained a wonderful friend to me and she will be dearly missed.

If one looked up the definitions for courage, grace, and inspiration, surely, there would be a photo of Florence Post. This incredible woman opened up her heart and home to all fortunate enough to know her. And the Kugel-unforgettable. Thank you for enhancing so many lives and for educating us about what really matters-love of family and being grateful for all we have. Love, the Horwitz Family
