Helen Silver Boardman wife of the late Sol Boardman passed away on June 16, 2014 at the Hebrew Home and Hospital. Helen’s passing will be mourned by her daughter Lynn Mitchell and her husband Bob of the Villages, FL and her son, Len Boardman and his wife Stef of Calabasas, Ca. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren: Jen Maron, Jillian Boardman, Michael Boardman and his wife Smadar. She leaves three great-grandchildren: Jake, Sam and Abby who brought her so much love and joy. Missing her will be her brother Edward Silver and his wife Barbara of Nevada, a brother-in-law Jake Fagin of West Hartford, a brother-in law Murray Boardman and his wife Linda of Florida and sister-in-law Ellie Boardman of Bloomfield. Helen was predeceased by her brother Bill Silver and his wife Dorothy, her sister Roz Fagin, her brother-in-law George Savage and his wife Hannah and brother-in-law Irving Boardman. In addition, Helen leaves many loving and devoted nieces and nephews.
Helen was the daughter of Abe and Belle Silver and was raised in Hartford. She retired from G. Fox and Co and the CIGNA Corp. Her happiest memories were the times she spent with family and friends at Old Colony Beach in Old Lyme. The family sends special thanks to her loving caregivers Yvonne, Jean, Gwynn, Olive and Kay and a special thank you to the caring staff at the Hebrew Home and to the Hospice staff who made her last days so comfortable.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11:30am at Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery in East Granby. Following services, the family will be sitting at the home of Michael and Lennie Fagin 66 Hilldale Road, West Hartford on Wednesday afternoon and evening. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s name may be made to The Hebrew Home and Hospital, 1 Abrahms Blvd., West Hartford, CT 06117 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
