Obituary

Helen (Solomon) Rashall died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in Delray Beach, FL. She was 93 years old. Helen was the widow of Bernard Rashall. Born in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Isadore and Libby (Yunowitz) Solomon. She was a former member of Congregation B’nai Israel of Rockville, CT and a member of Anshei Emuna Synagogue of Delray Beach, FL. She and her husband owned a poultry farm in Ellington for many years. Helen leaves her son, Dennis Rashall and his wife Diane of Fort Mill, SC; her daughter, Betty Hannigan and her husband Michael of Nome, AK; her grandchildren, Arlo Hannigan, Melanie Price and her husband John, and Cynthia Martin and her husband Lewis; and a great-grandson, Justin Price. She also leaves her sisters-in-law, Hilda Barron of East Greenbush, NY and Hedda Reichlin of Manchester, CT. She was predeceased by her son, Arnold Rashall. Helen was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 12:00 noon at the Knesseth Israel Synagogue Cemetery Section of Ellington Center Cemetery, Ellington, CT with Rabbi Debra Cantor officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, CT. Betty, I was upset to hear your wonderful mom had passed away. I truly believe that the relationship you had with your mom was an inspiration to me and how i wanted my children and grandchildren to be with me. She will be greatly missed.
