Herb was a member of Beth El Temple of West Hartford, and Level Lodge No 137 A.F. & A. M. He was an avid clarinetist and a member of several community bands. He also was a member and supporter of many philanthropic organizations.
He leaves his wife, Muriel ‘Marcia’ (Newman) Slotnick; his children, Lewis A. Slotnick and his wife Jamie of Burlington, CT, Betsy Slotnick Rubinstein and her husband Reed of Silver Spring, MD; his grandchildren, Samuel J. Slotnick, Alyssa J. Slotnick, David J. Rubinstein and his wife Yael, Aaron J. Rubinstein and his wife Lauren, and Joseph D. Rubinstein; and his great-granddaughters, Maya and Kayla. He was predeceased by his sister Zelda Slotnick Levy and also leaves behind three nieces, a nephew and two great nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in Beth El Temple Cemetery, Jackson St. Ext., Avon. Shiva will be observed at his home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to
