Buddy was my next-door neighbor on Colebrook Street. When the weather allowed, he and I would talk to each other from our open upstairs windows trading jokes and sharing the day's events. We played with his electric trains and experimented with his chemistry set in the basement, with Buddy taking great pride in producing bubbling, foaming and smelly mixtures. Luckily we never set the house on fire, although we came close once or twice. His home was always warm and welcoming and Buddy was a great kid! Alev b'shalom, Buddy.

Buddy, Donny and I grew up together on Colebrook Street in Hartford between Ridgefield Street and Blue Hills Avenue. All but two homes in our block had children. We played together, went back and forth between our homes, WALKED to Rawson Elementary School, CAME HOME for lunch and often went sledding on Lookout Mountain across Ridgefield Street in Keney Park. World War II was a memory for some but not all of us. Many of us remember the day FDR died. Some were too young to know why so many adults on our block were crying.
I remember his loving Aunt well. She was strong and vibrant. Buddy loved people and always carried on conversations and played games with enthusiasm. Although most of our block moved away decades ago, we all remained friends and our paths crossed continually, sometimes just in friendship, but with Buddy and me, professionally as well. Although I have lived in Palm Beach Gardens, FL for more than ten years, our years growing up together on Colebrook Street are a great memory, and when my wife, Susan, and I return to Connecticut each summer for a visit, I still drive by our old home at the top of the street and remember the good times all of us shared. I will miss Buddy a lot.

He came every Saturday to our Torah Study group - driving a great distance to be here. His comments were thoughtful and inspiring. He was a mentch and loved. I will deeply miss him.
