Irving J. White, 78, of Boynton Beach, FL, formerly of West Hartford, died Sunday, July 17th in Florida. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Aaron and Lucy (Isaacson) White. He was a Korean War Veteran of the US Merchant Marines. He had worked for Channel 30 in the 1960’s in merchandising. He had been the owner of Landerman and Bloomfield Hardware Stores in the 1970’s prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Emanuel Synagogue and for many years a member of the Minyonaires. He was also a member of the Lions Club and volunteered at the Hebrew Home & Hospital. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He leaves his wife, Elaine (Goldstein) White; a son, Lawrence White and his wife Sally of Bloomfield; four grandchildren: Adam, Michelle, Sarah and Nikolle White; and a sister, Selma White of West Hartford. He was predeceased by a son, Stephen B. White; two brothers: Meyer and Sammy White; and a sister: Sadie Kammerman. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 21, at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Jeffrey Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home of his son, Lawrence, 7 High Hill Rd., Bloomfield, Thursday following the funeral.
