Jack Gordon, 92 years of age, of West Hartford died July 1, 2012. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Louis and Rebecca (Mehlman) Gordon. He was a WWII veteran having served in U.S. Navy. He lived his entire life in Hartford, graduating from Hartford Public High School and the UConn College of Pharmacy. Jack was a member of the Emanuel Synagogue; Level Lodge No. 137 A.F.& A.M. Masons; a life member of Hadassah Associates and Jewish Children’s Services Organization; member of the Connecticut Pharmacists Association, Tall Cedars of Lebanon; and Senior Renewal Club Capital Community College. He is predeceased by his sisters — Sarah Katz and Grace Snyder and brothers — Benjamin, Hyman, Morris, Harry and Samuel Gordon. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Sylvia (Levine) Gordon; his children, Howard Gordon and Pat Livingston; Robert and Rosemary Gordon; Jonathan and Marilyn Gordon; and Susan R. Gordon; and his grandchildren Laurie and Richard Swope; Joseph and Shannon Gordon; Rebecca Gordon and Jacob Feldman; Timothy Gordon; Daniel and Maryse Gordon; Meredith Gordon and Eric Gordon. Jack leaves five great-grandchildren and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi David Small officiating. Interment will follow in the Wolkowysker Society Cemetery, Tower Ave., Hartford.
