Jerold George Nestler, 82 years of age, of Monroe Township, NJ, passed away peacefully in West Hartford, CT, on November 11, 2016. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Abraham and Sylvia Nestler. Jerry graduated from St. John’s University and enjoyed a distinguished career as Pharmacist and proprietor of Bay Drug Pharmacy, located in Bayonne, NJ. He was an active member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Air Unit, had been a member of the Masonic Lodge in NJ and maintained a pilot’s license. Golf became his true passion, a life-long ambition; he remained a member of The Glenwood Country Club for more than 30 years and recently Pebble Creek. Besides his family, golf and aviation, he enjoyed good food and was a true culinary aficionado. Jerry’s ultimate love was his grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Ms. Beverly Fishman of Monroe Township, NJ; his children, Dr. Jeffry Nestler and wife Dr. Ellen Nestler of West Hartford, CT, Dr. Gary Nestler and wife Julie Nestler of Isle of Palms, SC; Ms. Jaimee Martocci of Holmdel, NJ; his cherished grandchildren; Craig Nestler and his wife Alison Nestler; Adam Nestler and his wife Lillian Reuman; Ariana Nestler; Aspen Nestler; Anthony Stoebling and Ava Martocci. He was adored by his nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Edward and cousin, Gertrude Nestler Goldfinger. A graveside service will be held at the Baron-Hirsch Cemetery located at 1126 Richmond Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314 at 10:00 AM, Sunday, November 20, 2016.
