Jon returned to the US where he was a businessman with corporations across the country from Washington, D.C. to Washington State in a variety of fields. Jon was predeceased by his parents Lee Marvin Silverstein and Doris Cramer Silverstein. He is survived by his ex-wife and beloved Jingping Liu and her partner Greg Huntley, his son Howard Su and daughter-in-law Xinyi, and granddaughter Muses Su, as well as his sisters Leslie Silverstein Amadeo and brother-in-law David, Amy Silverstein Cramer and sister-in-law Amelia, Elizabeth Silverstein Cory and brother-in-law Glenn Maller, Priya Silverstein, nieces Margaret Cramer and Jaclyn Maller, nephew Eli Maller and aunts Phyllis Silverstein Rubinovitz (Samuel) and Barbara Silverstein. Jon Knee was a kind and caring brother-in-law and a world class noodge who could always make me laugh and smile. He loved deeply and was deeply loved. I miss him very much.

Brother,

You will be missed dearly. Our journey together from China to today has been an awesome one. Our geo-politico-socio-economic debates as well as our exchanges on life and experiences will be sorely missed.

You are an inspiration to others, remaining positive in outlook despite the battles you fought. You always expressed your love of family, friends and country, and the fantastic life journey you had. Thanks for making me a part of that journey.

Be at peace now. Shalom.

I knew Jon my whole life, any time we were together from childhood to adulthood it was always humorous.
Jon loved Leslie and my antics/stories through the years.
Thoughts of Jon will always bring a smile to me.

Love to all the Silversteins, who were a second family to me.

Jon, I've known you since I was 5 years old. You were always a noodge, and I miss you. Brilliant, caring, and deeply loyal and loving. I will remember you always, Jon Alan Silverstein. Love from Laura, your nerdy neighbor.

Jon was a joy to work with in Shenyang and taught me a great deal about working with Chinese students. I shall miss his sense of humour. He gave me one of his Father's books which I still enjoy. I am very sad at his passing and my thoughts are with his family and friends.

Jon will be laid to rest in the presence of his beloved sisters and his many close friends. Those friendships have endured since his childhood, for over half a century, and are a testament to his loving, gentle spirit. May his memory be blessed, as his life blessed those who now say goodbye to him. God rest his spirit.

I grew up with Jon. We ran around the neighborhood together, then drove around it, then left it and went our separate ways. I'm glad I can say Jon was my friend, and Amy and Leslie too. Best wishes for peace and happiness to all the Silverstein family and friends.
