Joseph Turner, 83 of Abrahms Blvd., West Hartford, died Tuesday, July 12th. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Charles and Ethel (Goldfarb) Turner. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Turner was a Lead Man for Machinists at Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford for 32 years before he retired. He was Past Master of Euclid Lodge No. 109 A.F. & A.M., member of Sphinx Temple, Highlander Drum Major and a member of the former Sephardic Congregation of Greater Hartford. He leaves his wife, Gloria (BenMaor) Turner; two sons: Alan M. Turner and his wife Marcia of Danielson, and Stanley R. Turner and his wife Tina of West Hartford; a daughter, Robin Turner Fierman and her husband David of Glastonbury; seven grandchildren: Joel and Adam Turner, Frank Turner and his wife Amy, Chad Turner and his wife Karyn, Jason and Heather Turner and Elizabeth Fierman; a great grandson Tyler Scott Turner; a brother, Jacob Turner and his wife Edi of Boynton Beach, FL, and a sister Sylvia Bernstein and her husband Edward of Hamden. He was predeceased by a sister, Eva Chafetz. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hebrew Home & Hospital, especially Michelle, Emelia, Sandy, Beth and Sondra and all others who helped. Funeral services will be held TODAY (Thursday, July 14th) at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford with Alan Turner and Rabbi David Levy officiating. Interment will follow in the Congregation Kol Haverim Cemetery, Wethersfield. A memorial period will be observed Thursday following the funeral through Sunday evening at the home of Mrs. Gloria Turner, 160 Simsbury Road, West Hartford.
