Lillian (Mishkin) Roznar, 96, of West Hartford, died Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Hughes Health and Rehabilitation. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Roznar for 65 years. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Annie (Rudnick) Mishkin and the late Aaron Mishkin. Lillian grew up in Hartford, and graduated from Hartford Public High School. After marrying Joe in 1949, they lived in Hartford where they had their two daughters, until moving to West Hartford in 1963. Prior to marrying Joe, Lillian worked at the old State Theater in Hartford as “gal Friday” to the theater manager. Shortly after starting her family, she began working as a secretary in the Hartford school system- first at Weaver High School and then at the Board of Education in the Psychology department, retiring in 1985. Lillian was an avid mah-jongg player, an excellent baker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Roznar of Newington, a brother, Jack Mishkin of West Hartford, a sister, Harriett Atkins of Bloomfield and a son-in-law, Larry Stahl of West Hartford as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Joan Stahl of West Hartford, who passed away on April 3, 2016, her brother, Max Mishkin, and her sister, Mary Fabian.
