Lore

(Moses)

Schwartz

Obituary

Lore (Moses) Schwartz, 94 years of age, of Avon, CT, formerly of West Hartford and Boca Raton, FL, died surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 17, 2016. She was the widow of Eric Schwartz. Born in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Henrietta (Baum) Moses. Mom was born in Germany and moved to Holland when she was a young girl. She was a survivor of the Holocaust, and imprisoned in Westerbork and Theresienstadt concentration camps over a three year period. She came to this country in 1947 and met the love of her life, her Schatzi, our dad, and married him in September 1949. They had three children and 54 wonderful years together. Family was the most important part of Mom’s life. She was a devoted wife, mother and Oma. She was generous with her love and time, enjoying all the special times she shared with her family, especially her great grandchildren, Levi and Aiden. She will be greatly missed. Mom loved to travel, she and dad explored the world together. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an accomplished artist. We are blessed to be able to enjoy seeing her paintings in our homes. She enjoyed all forms of art, including attending the theater, visiting museums, going to concerts and watching music videos with her son in law, Michael. Her cooking and baking skills were amazing, with many original recipes handed down to the next generations. Mom was a woman ahead of her time, with a special regard for fashion, decorating, and health and exercise. She leaves her children, Dr. Allan Schwartz and his wife Dina of Glastonbury, CT and Delray Beach, FL, Ronald Schwartz and his wife Kelley of Windermere, FL, and Monica Krikorian and her husband Michael of West Hartford, CT; and her grandchildren, Evan Schwartz and his wife Raeann, Jena Reasinger and her husband Kyle, Jessica Schwartz and her fiancee Necco Ceresani, Alec Schwartz, Aaron Krikorian and his fiancee Stacy Missari, Danielle Krikorian with Lawton Arnold, and Jared Krikorian with Tanner Roe; step granddaughter Raegan Lafferty; her great grandchildren, Levi and Aiden; and her brother, Kurt Moses and his wife Doris of Harrisburg, PA. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford , CT with Rabbi Debra Cantor officiating. Interment will follow in Congregation Tikvoh Chadoshoh Cemetery, Clubhouse Rd., Windsor, CT. Following the interment, shiva will be observed at 73 Fairfield Rd. West Hartford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. at www.ushmm.org. or The Center of Jewish History at www.donate.cjh.org . We wish you all the most sincere sympathy during this difficult time. Your mom was a wonderful lady and will be missed by all. Although we never had the pleasure of meeting her, we know she was loved and admired by the stories Allan related about her. Peace and love be with you.
All the best,
Shirley and Carl
