Aunt Margie,
You are one in a million! You will always be in our thoughts and our prayers. With all our love, Michael, Miriam, Sydney, and Emily
Prior to her retirement, Marjorie worked as a traffic coordinator at Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT. She held many other positions in her professional career, but her passion was to lead fund raising activities in support of cancer research. While coordinating events well into her 80’s, she helped improve the lives of so many people. And in 2008, reflecting on her generosity and commitment to the cause, Marjorie donated specialized cancer treatment equipment to the University of Miami/Sylvester Deerfield Beach Facility so residents of Palm Beach County would not need to travel 1 ½ hours to Miami to receive the care they needed.
Marjorie was a very independent person with a lifelong list of achievements. She was especially proud of becoming a Bat Mitzvah at the age of 70. Surrounded by family and friends, she filled the Temple Sinai in Delray Beach to capacity that day.
Marjorie was very close to her family and leaves behind her nieces Sandra Phair of Manchester, CT., Roberta Steinberg and her husband Gene of Lake Lure, NC, Sharon Gold of West Hartford, CT., and Michele Gold of Newton, MA. She also leaves behind her nephews Charles Chaet and his wife Sharon of Madison, CT., and Ronald Chaet of Bloomfield, CT. Many great-nephews and great-nieces will also miss their “Auntie Margie”.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 9:30 AM at the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield with Rabbi Richard Plavin officiating. A memorial period will be observed Sunday following the interment at the home of Marjorie’s nephew Ronald, 12 Benton Drive, Bloomfield, CT. 06002. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Triangle Cancer Research, 1192 East Newport Center Drive, Suite 230, Deerfield Beach, FL 33442. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford. For further information, directions, or to sign the guest book for Marjorie, please visit online at www.weinsteinmortuary.com/funerals.cfm.
