My sincerest condolences to Mark's family. While I hadn't seen Mark in quite a few years, I have asked about him many times. Mark and I met in Sunday school at Temple Beth Sholom in Manchester when we were five years old and became great friends. We both joined Boy Scouts at the same time and while Mark's family moved to West Hartford, he and I would always plan our summer weeks at Camp Pioneer together until we were 17 or 18. Mark and I remained close until I moved to Dallas in 1971. I am very saddened by his passing and I will remember him fondly all the days of my life.

IT is with the deepest sadness that I write. One of the all time great men I've been privileged to know in my lifetime is now in heaven playing golf with his son Larry.
Mark was always family to me and mine. He watched out for me and treated me as a big brother would. The man was such a mensch.
When the riots were happening in Hartford he went down to
B.Golden and Sons with my Dad, Milt, and they protected the store from gang violence. They slept (probably not) overnight with guns in hand to protect the Golden family business.
Dear Lauren and Stephen, our hearts break for you.
May he rest in peace, and may his name be forever a blessing.
Love, Alan and Marilyn (Golden, Rubin) Byer
