Max Gold, 91, of Bloomfield died Sunday (July 16, 2006). He was the husband of the late Jeanette Gold. Born July 5, 1915 in Chelsea, MA, he was the son of the late Abraham and Sophie (Pomerantz) Gold. Max attended Northeastern Law School, and during World War II he served in the US Army in the Philippines and in New Guinea. He worked in Millinery at the Buddy Dale Hat Company in Washington, DC. He then managed the Spartan-Atlantic Stores in Shreveport, LA, Dallas, TX, Minneapolis, MN, and Oklahoma City, OK. Max then became the operations manager of S. Klein Department Store in Philadelphia, PA. He went on to become the manager of the Youth Centre Store in Bristol. Max became a law librarian for the Rogin-Nassau Law Firm in Hartford. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans. He leaves two sons, Arnold Gold of Bloomfield, and Steven Gold of Hartford. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 21, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with interment in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
