I will never forget Max for taking a chance on me opening up a maternity shop at his plaza in Vernon He taught me so much about people, business and real estate and always with kindness yet an eye on business. He would be happy to know I have followed his wonderful advice and it has serviced my family well. I wish I had the opportunity to tell him. Thank you to his family and my deepest sympathy. He was a wonderful one of a kind gentleman May he rest in peace

Max Javit loved his family with all of his heart. One of my favorite memories was hearing the story of when he and Debbie went to the dolphin center for one of his birthdays. He very much enjoyed this adventure.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Max Javit, may he rest in peace. More memories than I can possibly count of his warmth and kindness (along with Mrs. Javit-she should be well) to me in all the years of my long friendship with Dan. Truly a good man, whose deeds were upright and righteous and whose
legacy will live on. May his memory be for a blessing and to Mrs. Javit, Dan, Debbie and Sharon: Hamakom yinachem eschem b'soch shaar avelei Tzion V'Yerushalayim: may you be comforted among all the mourners of the Jewish people.

Max was a remarkable man in many ways. I met him when he and Rachel joined our Support Group at Hartford Hospital. He was a great listener who was genuinely interested in other people. His contributions to the Group were immeasurable. As time goes by it becomes more difficult to accept the many losses of the wonderful courageous men and women who came together each month during the 20 years of my tenure. Max was indeed one of a kind and although I will miss his quiet presence, I feel grateful to have known him. My heartfelt condolences to Rachel and his family. With love, Carole B.C. Fox, R.N, Retired.

I will miss Max, my dear, dear friend since 1955 when the Pecks and Javits first met at the Jewish Community Center in Kaiserslautern Germany. We shared so many wonderful times together, from epic family trips to simple home visits. What a true friend he was. My heart goes out to Rachel who devoted herself so completely to his care as his health declined. I am thinking about the whole Javit family during this difficult time. He surely will be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Max proved to be a valiant and great fighter, going on when others were ready to give up. Will remember our times together, especially the bike rides, and before that, the tennis. More importantly, he left a positive mark on the community, which will survive him.

Max was a true Mensch. He was always warm and welcoming and eager to be of help to others. Yesterday, when I read the notice from B'Nai Torah Congregation, I cried for the loss of a wonderful human being, a loving husband always to Rachel, and to their children.May his memory be a blessing for all who had the good fortune to be called his friend and most especially to his wonderful family. Sincerest and heartfelt condolences.
