Murray lived in Hartford, Bloomfield and Newington before moving to Tamarac, Florida in 1981, and moved to Glen Meadow in Longmeadow, MA in 2003.
Murray served in the Army Air Force during World War II as a radio operator. Among his proudest achievements was that he was president of Agudas Achim Synagogue from 1962-1963, where he was also a longtime Sunday School teacher.
Besides his wife, Ruth, Murray is survived by his children, David Federman and his wife Jean of Bloomfield and Karen Blinderman and her husband Lawrence of West Springfield, MA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Eric and Amy Federman, Stacey and David Fonseca and Brian and Stephanie Federman, as well as four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Samuel, Jocelyn and Michalina.
Funeral services will be held at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, NJ on Wednesday February 25 at 12:30pm. Shiva will be observed at Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford on Thursday February 26 from 1:00-5:00.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Murray Federman Memorial Fund at the Mandell Jewish Community Center, 335 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06117 or to the Julian J. Leavitt Family Jewish Nursing Home, 770 Converse Street, Longmeadow, MA 01106.

Dear Federman family..I was one of those kids who was active at the Agudas Achim when both the Federmans were very active adults in the community of families that made the shul flourish. When Murray Federman(z"l) taught Sunday School he was my Sunday School teacher and active in the Mr and Mrs. club,committees,the shul's board etc.In my young years both of the Federmans were amongst the couples that made the shul work.the Sigals,Cohns,Moses,Finmans etc...may he rest-in-peace now..my sincere condolences...G-d Bless you all...shalom and love...Fay Merkin Clymer..my sister,Bluma Merkin Weinbaum and our families
