N. Irving Rosen, 91 of Bloomfield, formerly of Santa Barbara, CA, died peacefully Friday, July 25th. He was born in Schenectady, NY in Feb. 1917. His loving wife Lillian Rosen died in 1998. He spent his working years as a jeweler in Troy, NY and later followed the same profession in Santa Barbara. While in Santa Barbara he volunteered for over 25 years in many organizations including Food Share, Cottage Hospital, and AARP. He was extremely involved in the local synagogue and was named Man of the Year in Santa Barbara. He is survived by his son, Dr. James Rosen and his wife Edie of Bloomfield, a daughter, Ronni Silver, a physical therapist, and her husband Robert of Rapid City SD and son Jerry Rosen, PhD of Rockville MD. Five grandchildren, two grandsons-in-law and two great-grandchildren also survive him along with his brother and sister and sister-in-law of California. A graveside funeral service was held Tuesday, July 29th at the Santa Barbara Cemetery. Mourning will be observed at the home of Jim and Edie Rosen. Please call for hours.
