Ronald Byron, 67, of West Hartford, passed away April 13, 2015. To honor his final wishes, there will be no Funeral Service or Shiva. A lifelong resident of Connecticut, Ron graduated Conard High School in 1965; graduated Univ of Hartford with a BA in Psychology in 1970, and Masters of Education in 1973. Ron had many accomplishments – a lot to be proud of. He worked as a Teacher-Therapist for Child and Family Services of CT. He worked for The Capitol Region Education Council’s (CREC) Day Treatment Service as a coordinator for adolescent programming, and then as the assistant director. Later he was a Special Education Program Supervisor for the State of CT Dept of Mental Retardation. He received a certificate of appreciation from the National Society for Autistic Children; and was a member of the Board of Directors for the CT State Society for Autistic Citizens. He was the son of the late Harry Byron and Helen Goldenthal Byron. He leaves his sister Judith Simons of Cary NC, and his sister Suzanne Freeman and her husband, Allan, of South Windsor CT; he also leaves his nieces and nephews, and he had a special affection for his grand-nephew Andrew; as well as cousins and good friends who will miss him dearly. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Masonicare Hospice, as well as JFS Care at Home, and Stay@Home Care, for their support in his final weeks.
