Obituary

DUNN, Rose (Bernstein) Dunn, 94, of Farmington, formerly of West Hartford and Delray Beach, FL, died Friday, December 16, 2005 at home with her family by her side. She was the widow of Lewis A. Dunn. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Saul and Ettie (Rudel) Bernstein. She graduated from the Mt. Sinai Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford and was a Registered Nurse until she retired. Rose was a founding member and past president of the Jewish Nurses Association. She leaves three sons, Stephen P. Dunn and his wife Sharon of Farmington, Herbert L. Dunn and his wife Marcia of Fisher Island, FL and Old Saybrook, and Robert H. Dunn of New York, NY; two brothers, Irving Bernstein and his wife Natalie of West Hartford, and Judge Simon Bernstein and his wife Maryann of Sarasota, FL; three sisters, Shaye Rosenfield of Bloomfield, Eve Black of Tampa, FL, and Ruth DuBoff of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren, Joshua Dunn and his wife Stefanie, Scot Dunn, Matthew Dunn, Wendy Kahn and her husband John, and Jeffrey Kerensky and his wife Robin; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two children, William Dunn and Elizabeth Dunn Kerensky. The family wishes to express its deep gratitude to the Staff of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Hartford Hospital for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 18, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Beth El Temple Cemetery, Jackson Street, Avon with Rabbi David Small officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home of Stephen and Sharon Dunn, 14 Bailey Court, Farmington, Sunday following the funeral and Monday 6-8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
