Sally Bartlett, 92 passed away on December 16, 2014. Sally grew up in Hartford, and for most of her life she resided in East Hartford before moving to Old Saybrook with her beloved husband of 60 years, Frederick who died in 2005. She is survived by her sons Mark and Jeffrey, daughters-in-law Juneal and Susan, her grandchildren Matthew and his wife Katie, Jonathan and his partner Lindsey, and Jessica and her husband Brian, and her great grandchildren Anna and Alex. She was pre-deceased by six brothers and sisters of the Galinsky family.
Lovingly known as “Ma” and “Grammie” she was the always at the center of family life and a steady voice of common sense and understanding. Beyond her family, she was friends to many, had a long career as an executive assistant at The Hartford Financial Services Company, and worked at Kay-Bart Cleaners, the family business. Most of all, she cherished her life with Fred, as a couple they lived life to the fullest and shared many adventures together. They traveled the world, visiting most of the Western European countries, Greece, Israel, Egypt, and China making new friends everywhere they went. They spent their retirement years happily at “Riverhaven,” the home they loved on the water in Old Saybrook. She will be greatly missed by her family who will always be grateful for the love and wisdom she shared.
We would like to recognize and offer special thanks to the staff at the Atrium of Rocky Hill who provided such thoughtful and loving care to Sally.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 19th at 1:30pm at Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 200 Whitman Avenue, West Hartford, CT.
