Stanley Hufnagel, 86 of Bloomfield died at home on Monday, February 25, 2008. Born in Poland he immigrated to Cuba as a child with his parents Harry & Flora Hufnagel. After living in Cuba for 10 years, they were finally able to arrive in New York in 1934. He has been a resident of Connecticut since 1955. He was predeceased by his first wife, Irene (Jacobs) Hufnagel. He is survived by his wife Irene (Tobias) Hufnagel, his two daughters, Alene (Hufnagel) Galin, (her partner Stan Newton) and Pat (Hufnagel) Draznin (her husband Dean Draznin) and Irene?s son, Jeffrey Markel (his wife Zita Xavier) and her daughter, Dr. Susan Markel, and his two sisters, Roberta Hufnagel and Renee Green. He was the proud grandfather of their six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Until his retirement, Stanley owned and operated many dry cleaning stores. In his later years he enjoyed traveling with Irene to many different countries, spending winters in Delray Beach, FL, and playing golf, as well as his creations made in his woodworking shop. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 28th at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi David J. Small officiating. Interment will follow in the Teferes Israel Cemetery, Elmwood. The family will receive visitors at their home in Bloomfield Thursday after the funeral, Friday afternoon, Saturday 6-9 PM, and Sunday.
