Sylvia Broz Plotzker, 88, of West Hartford, formerly of the Bronx and Queens, NY, widow of William Plotzker, passed away on Sunday, (January 1, 2006) while surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grand mother. She was born on April 18, 1917, the daughter of Sol and Ethel Broz. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Howard Posner of Avon; a son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Barbara Plotzker of Sebasto pol, CA; four grandchildren, Melissa and her husband Roger Norris, Evan Posner and his wife Alex andra, Daniel Posner, and Kim Posner. Special joys in her life were two great-grandchildren, Samuel Posner and Alexa Norris. Prior to her retirement, Sylvia worked at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, NY for over 20 years. She had a joy and enthusiasm for life. She loved to dance and visit with friends at the West Hartford Senior Center and the Jewish Community Center. Her love and devotion to her family served as a great example for those around her. She will be greatly missed and very fondly remembered. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, at 11:30 a.m. at Beth Israel Memorial Park in Woodbridge, NJ.
