Edith (Revkin) Bernstein, 89, of West Hartford, CT formerly of Dexterdale Road, Providence, RI died on December 5, 2005. She was the wife of the late Bertram Bernstein. Born in New York, NY, the daughter of the late Barney and Sarah (Meirowitz) Revkin; she lived in Providence for most of her life. She was a lifelong member of Temple Emanuel in Providence, and served as Co-President of the Women’s Association of the Rhode Island Jewish Home for the Aged from 1989 through 1991. She was active in Miriam Hospital’s Women’s Association and in Hadassah. She is survived by two daughters: Gail Fine of West Hartford, CT and Joan Goldberg of Somerset, MA; a son: Mark Bernstein of Newton Centre, MA; as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, William Revkin of Port Saint Lucie, FL. She was predeceased by two brothers, Elliot and Maurice Revkin. A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8th, at 11:30 AM in the Lincoln Park Cemetery, 1469 Post Road, Warwick, RI. A memorial period will be observed at the home of Joan Goldberg, 146 Colonial Drive, Somerset, MA on Thursday from 2-5 PM and from 7-9 PM.
