Rosalyn (Hersh) Katz, 91, of King Philip Drive, West Hartford, died Sunday (December 11, 2005). She was the widow of George Katz. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Katherine and Benjamin Hersh. Mrs. Katz taught in the Hartford Public School system for many years prior to her retirement. She was a Life Member of Hadassah and a member of B’nai Brith. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jane Katz. She was also predeceased by her brothers Durwood and Harold Hersh, and by her sister Juliette Monoson. She is survived by her loving nephews, Attorney Dennis Hersh and his wife Deborah of West Hartford, Attorney David Hersh and his wife Roxanne of California, Alan Hersh of Los Angeles, CA, David Monoson and Alexandra Laing of St. Thomas, Ruthan Bachrack of California; John Fannon of Massachusetts, grand-niece Lauren Hersh Fannon of Massachusetts; grand-nephews, Ryan Fannon of Massachusetts, Austin Hersh of West Hartford, and Jared and Justin Hersh of California, and other nieces and nephews. She is also survived by devoted loving cousins Richard and Blanche Lieberman of West Hartford and Gertrude and Julius Galin of West Hartford. Funeral services will held on Wednesday, December 14, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford with Rabbi Michael Pincus officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. A memorial period will be observed Wednesday following the funeral at her home, 201 King Philip Drive, West Hartford.
